And July Flew By

July was a crazy month for us with summer vacation, family being in town, trying to get some school stuff out of the way and normal  rl things.  We weren’t able to log on much due to our hectic schedule but we did manage to get some things accomplished.  With WoW currently, you could probably play 24 hours a day and still manage to be behind in something.  They certainly are making sure you don’t run out this expansion.  Which is why it’s so awful, but that’s a rant for another day.  We have realized we won’t finish this expansion and that it’s okay because logging is more important.  So we are just doing what we can and making progress with the things that are most important to us.

Over a two week period Naz and I both ran with the guild to do normal Kil’jaeden so that we could see Argus in the sky.  Now its been patched in for everyone to see…  So that was pointless.  Unless you count the ach that you get when you do AotC.

Earlier in the month we got our priests, Lullaby and Incubus to 110.  To be honest we haven’t done much in the way of questing to level these and the other sets we have been working on.  We have mostly just done invasions for the quick level every time they are up.  Helps to not get burnt out on questing but leaves you at 110 with horrible gear and no relics.

Lullaby and Incubus

Then last week we got our 5th set to 110, Vankora and Dig.  Initially Vankora was being leveled with Naz like always but someone might have done too many xp missions from their phone and got ahead.  So since Dig was the highest he got swapped out.  Naz and Fern are in the process of leveling though and at 106.  With Vankora hitting 110 I did decide that I should change her mog, since it has been a few years.  I had built this mog years ago but that was when doing HoF alone was impossible.  So I was still missing about half the pieces.  For once though I actually had good luck and ended up running all the raids and getting all but my belt.  Now to get used to tanking in a dress…

Vankora and Dig

Last week Blizzard released a new mount and pet to the store, the Luminous Starseeker and Twilight the colorful kitty.  I got it first day so I could fly around and be glorious.  It is well worth the money and oh so pretty!

Though I haven’t been quite as diligent with my mog runs due to overwhelming rl I try to get a few done every week at least so I can knock some things out.  I’ve got Lilly’s mog count up to 41/47 currently.  With all but 5 of my sets being completed on every difficulty possible.  It is still never ending.  I’ve also been putting off a lot of the more annoying LFR runs because getting loot in there is awful.  I’ll probably never finish with those.  But progress is progress, so I’ll take what I have.  On the bright side, most mog in the guild.  So that makes me happy.

Female Human: Master Race

Last night we finished up our 4th set to 110 and our first Alliance set.  My warrior, Blackout, and Naz’s rogue, Layla.  Now on to the next horde set.

Blackout and Layla

Unrelated to leveling, but I had not been to this part of SW since the King’s funeral.  They really have made that area quite lovely with his tomb and the Broken Shore memorial.  Someone may still cry every time they see the cinematic for Broken Shore.  While I may main Horde, Varian will forever be the King of Stormwind and his death will always make Lilly sad (and maybe Em as well).

Weather Gets Hotter, List Gets Longer

While I got my fox awhile ago, Naz was still going back every time withered training was up to try to get his.  Last week he finally got it.  He was probably close to the last person in all of WoW who did the wq to get it.  But now we both have it.  It would be nice to say that we are done with withered training, but sadly we are both still missing one of the toys.  It’s looking like we will probably be there forever at this rate.

Fox mounts

With 7.2.5 came lots of new content, new raid, new scenario, new pet battle dungeons, and more.  With 7.2.5 also came heirlooms to 110.  This means that not only did we have to spend around 300k to upgrade all our looms, but it also means that the time has arrived.  It’s time to level.  We have picked one of each class to start off with and work on their class mounts and any toys or pets they have.  So far we only have 3 sets to 110, Lilly and Lauria, our demon hunters, and Duritz and Clover who we just finished a few days ago.  We are currently in the process of leveling our first Alliance set, Blackout and Layla.   We were going to make them over again on ZJ but decided to hold off on that since we had the classes at a decent level already.  Naz did have to level from 90 and I was only 78, but faster than level 1.  Since Naz doesn’t like rogues, so 90 was far enough for him. For right now we are only going to start one of our classes over.  I’m going to make a female night elf to be my first druid to 110.  Since night elves are the true druids I can see the quests from the best druid perspective.  Naz is going to start over a warrior, since his highest is still on KJ and we have zero desire to level anything on that horrid server.  Leveling everything is going to be the easy part.  The challenge will be getting every class done with their weapon and quest chain.  Not so much challenging, as just incredibly annoying and time consuming.

I have continued to try to get my mog runs in every week.  Though with all the RL stuff going on with the end of school, and the never ending amount of other things to do in WoW, I have been getting less of them done.  My list never gets shorter.  Finish one difficulty in a raid, don’t worry, you never get to leave, there’s always another.  Slowly though I am making progress with most of them.  For some though, I’m convinced the mobs just like seeing me every week and I’ll never get my loot.  Two weeks ago the guild was wonderful enough to to a heroic ToV run so Naz and I could get the AotC achievement and the mog.  That week I finally got around to finishing the LFR version of the mog as well.  At least that is actually crossed off my list.  Not going in to do normal until next expansion probably.  Then I’ll add it back on.

One thing is for sure, my to do list will never get smaller.  There is just way too much to do this expansion.  People can stay busy without Blizzard cramming non-stop content down our throats.  Appeal to all the people who don’t really love WoW.  I’m glad that’s the direction they decided to go…

A Long Desired Hippogryph

It’s been almost a week now since I used up all my WoW luck for the year (and then some, probably).  Last Friday I was on my demon hunter mining and doing a few wq  in Azsuna while getting the kids ready for school in the morning.  I landed for some ore and behind me was a crystal.  I got excited.  I flew around and found a few more.  Time was running out for me though as the minutes were counting down until I had to leave to take the kids.  With one more left we really needed to be going.  I was so incredibly nervous.  I figured that there was no way I would find the last one before I had to leave, and by the time I got back, someone else would have found them all.  Then, I found it.  I found the last one.  I clicked it and the most glorious mount appeared in my bags.  I GOT IT!  In all honesty I was freaking out.  I couldn’t believe I actually got it.  I have wanted them to put this mount in for so long.  I love hippogryphs and it was never fair that the Darnassus guards got them but we didn’t.  But now, now I get to ride around on my own purple Long Forgotten Hippogryph.  Now I’m sure I won’t get the Dreamrunner mount…  But I’ll do wq forever to keep trying.

With a new mount, comes a new mog.  Of course we have to color coordinate.

Long Forgotten Hippogryph

Motivated By Mog

Yesterday instead of being productive and working on the countless wq on my list I decided to work on leveling up a set of our alliance alts.  I had created a mog for one of my priests that we had leveled with RaF but was unable to use it until hitting 100.  After finally getting the staff a while back I decided it was time to level so I could use it.  While I didn’t get us to 110, we did hit 100 and I am now pretty and happy.

Priest Druid

I’m still working on my list of mog.  It definitely seems never ending at this point.  I have got Lilly up to 35/45 and the only PvP set I’m missing is the current season.  I’ve been having pretty awful luck the last 2 weeks and getting hardly anything I need to drop.  Once you are down to 1-2 pieces for the set it goes slowly, even running multiple toons when it’s not a tier piece.  I can’t have bad luck forever though right?

With ToS coming out next month and the raid team taking a break after next week I figured it was time to get my AotC achievement before it was gone.  Super big thanks to our wonderful Myth raid team for carrying my panda butt so I could get the ach on Wed.

More Creatures For The Collection

After a rather long wait I have finally finished the Family Familiar pet achievement and got the Nightmare Treant.  The last ach I had was for magic and it took a long time just to get that one finished.  Over the last few weeks I think I only had one of the right pet battles available.  The fact that we both only had 1 110 to work on the achievements made them take much longer than they did  for a lot of other people.  But that is finally off my to do list.

graves and treant

Also, with the update to HotS today I got Graves, after what has been basically forever.  I did only have a little over a level until I was going to hit 20 before the update.  Speaking of which, I am a little more excited about the new HotS mounts than I should be.  I going to have to deal with the voice in my head telling me I need all the things.

Less awesome but I also got another pet from the pet supply bag from the weekly pet battle dungeon.  Only one more pet to go, then I’m done with that weekly until they add the Deadmines dungeon in 7.2.5.

Last but not least, we finished up the Insurrection quest chain in Suramar tonight and finally have the Manasaber mount.  We are only a little behind on that one..  Another thing crossed off our list though.

Making Progress With The Points

Today I have finally hit 24k achievement points for my account.  I’m a bit slow since I spend most of my time farming mog.  That obsession has got me up to 33/45 sets for Lilly though.  At least they added more mog achs so I can make some sort of progress.

I also hit 110 on my demon hunter, Aiden, on Saturday.  He is only my second toon to get to 110 since we haven’t spent much time leveling alts this expansion, except when we did RaF.  I don’t really plan on using him for much but he is my miner and skinner.  I maxed his skinning long ago, but my mining is still a work in progress, mostly because it’s painfully slow to get the last 30 or so points.  At some point we will start leveling up more toons, especially with all the achs associated with the class halls and finishing all professions.  But that, is for another day.
